Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
Course Duration:
All publicly offered Standard First Aid courses are Blended: 6-8 hours in person + 8 hours online learning **
Privately scheduled Standard First Aid courses can choose a non-blended option if they prefer: 13-14 hours in person over 2 days.

- The Red Cross
- Preparing to respond
- The EMS system
- Check, call, care
- Airway emergencies
- Breathing and circulation emergencies
- First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Wound care
- Head and spine injuries
- Bone, muscle and joint injuries
- Sudden medical emergencies
- Environmental emergencies
- Poisons (includes opioid poisoning)
Recertification:
Blended Standard First Aid: 4 hours online learning, 3-4 hours teaching time
Only eligible to re-certify if learner holds a valid/non-expired certificate.
**Online learning time will vary depending on the learner. This online content will be sent to learners within 24 hours of registering for the course. This content is to be completed in your own time PRIOR to the in person session.
